Going to Carolina

Well, we moved to Greensboro, North Carolina!

We honestly couldn’t have done this without the help from our community group and family. Because of their sweet serving hearts, packing went smoothly.

After an extremely late start due to towing issues, we finally were able to hit the road around 12:30pm -  about five and half hours behind schedule! It took two days in the car, 22 hours total and 1,314 miles.

It was a long drive, but definitely worth it. Worth it for the beautiful scenery and great audio books. Thanks to Charlie Williams we were stockpiled for more than one trip to North Carolina. Unfortunately I was over taken by 'The Help' and never listened to his suspense/mystery collection. But after I heard Taylor's take on the books, I'm sure we'll listen to them soon. We drove all night through Arkansas and finally collapsed for the night at a rest stop in Jackson, TN. After about four hours of freezing our bums off, we decided driving would be better than "trying" to sleep in misery. By 7am we were driving through the beautiful hills of Tennessee.  I think we lucked out with the time of year! All the colors and hills made for a picturesque drive.

We drove into Greensboro, NC about 7pm Friday evening – just in time for the sun to set. This only drove our anticipation to see the city the next day. After a nice walk around our neighborhood, we started unpacking for the next three days. If you know me at all, then you know that we are officially unpacked! Well, everything we could unpack. We had to leave about 1/3 of our things in storage due to the lack of space.

Here are some pictures from our afternoon walk:

Our lease is up in 3 months, so I bet you can guess what Taylor’s doing during this time… yes, house hunting! He’s such a determined man and with his passion for building things crying out in the back of his head, I’m sure we’ll be moving yet again. :)
